At a unknown date a Boston type aircraft ? force landed in a field between Mossy Lea Road and St Josephs Church, Standish. It was repaired on site and it took off over Four Lane Ends. |

At a unknown date a Spitfire force landed in the Daisy Hill area of Westhoughton at a place known as the wires. The pilot of this aircraft was possibly a Tony Moran and it is believed he walked home for his breakfast as he lived locally. |
