Miles Master N7839 - 26/11/1940

It was reported that a Miles Master No N7839 of No 57 Operational Training Unit crashed into the River Mersey following take off on the 26th November 1940. The aircraft was struck off charge on the 6th December 1940.

Alan Davey who was a British armourer on No 312 (Czech) Squadron recently recalled hearing voices shouting from the river following what was probably this incident.
